    The point being made is, if you want a modern Mustang (without the live axel, and with brakes that match power.)

    You have to buy aftermarket because Ford still won’t provide these things. To many car people’s disapointment.

    Ok then why get a ferrari, lambo or anything else when american cars such as the ZR1, ACR Viper, Ford GT, Ford GTX among others that go around a track faster then the lambo’s and ferrari’s, porches and cost less or the same. Seems funny to me that even a stock Z06 will outrun your everyday run of the mill ferrari and lambo from a dig and past 180MPH and will turn as good as them also. And the GT500 only runs a tad bit slower then a Z06 in the quarter mile!!!!!!

    i think he needs a history lesson, the number after the GT is not the horsepower

    @SSshane6d9

    OK if that’s what you want by all means get the 500. But as said, they are still not very useful if all they got is the drag. They may make a great drag car, I wouldn’t know. But I personally want to do more than go fast for just 8 seconds (or even less!) and in a straight line. I want a car that will go fast, long, and spit me out the side window on a high speed turn.

    The GT500 does excatly what it’s supposed to do, looks good as you said and is powerfull. Good for what it was designed for, being a muscle car. I would love to see a ferrari f430 or 599 do the quarter mile in 8 secs after being built up. It was never designed for that, the GT500 does extremely well for what it was designed to do. If you want speed, and good turning. Look at the ACR viper, the Ford GT, GTX or the ZR1 which are comparable to the F430 and 599 in price and beat them on a track

    easy to understand.

    Try to drive one of those fast on any european road and you would understand what they mean.

    if you’re going to buy a car like that why wouldn’t you pay the extra 5,000 for suspension.

    @NobleM15fan Yes the supersnake exists and boy is it awesome but that 700 hp comes with a price nearly 70000 msrp. I dont know much other than that. Also the new designed 2010 model has a new supersnake also. Look for the Shelby Magazine.

    Mustangs are pretty awesome!!

    Manufacturers’ HP figures are based on CRANK HORSEPOWER, NOT REAR WHEEL HORSEPOWER. Jesus, TG producers are such morons.

    The GT500 is hilariously fun to drive = mission accomplished. And that Roush could keep up with any equally powered rival they throw at it on a track. Talk as much trash as you want, my Stang cost $13,900 and hits 60 in under 5 seconds thanks to cheap modifications. When the only affordable race around is between the lights, a Mustang starts to make a lot of sense.

    @NobleM15fan The supersnake was originally made by Shelby back in the 60`s. It was like any other fastback, only with a bigger engine and more extreme specs. Nowadays, the UniquePerformance-giys build Mustangs like the “eleanor” from Gone in 60 seconds, and the offer to more extreme versions..the “snake” and the “supersnake”..the latter has about 750hp and is completely insane.. :-)

    I heard about a special 700 BHP Mustang called the SuperSnake that uses the engine from the special edition Ford GTX1. I haven’t seen any pictures of it, and no car magazine I’ve seen has featured it. Does it actually exist? If so, what are the figures?
